Palladium wedding bands are known for their fantastic quality, affordability and strength. Used in jewellery since 1939 as an alternative to platinum and white gold, palladium rings have recently experienced an increase in popularity.
Like platinum, palladium is quite rare and has very similar properties. It has a beautiful shiny finish that does not tarnish easily. These properties make it desirable for making jewellery.
It is relatively hard-wearing and as a ‘pure’ metal like platinum it’s naturally white and will stay white forever. Requiring little up-keep to maintain its ‘white’ appearance. Giving it a strong advantage over white gold which requires a helping hand from rhodium plating.
If you suffer from allergies, you may have found your new favorite metal; palladium jewellery is also hypoallergenic and highly unlikely to affect you.
Palladium is less dense than platinum, making palladium rings much lighter. Some people prefer this and find them to be more comfortable. It’s had its own hallmark for several years now, and this has been compulsory since January 2010
